Traffic management and the expansion of new technologies require increased capacity for the reliable transmission of large volumes of data. Security is also an important requirement when building a network. The network is used by data centres, traffic management systems, video surveillance, dispatch centres, and other information systems and technologies.
The transmission network is built on the Railway Administration’s own optical cables. DWDM and MPLS transmission technologies implemented through CISCO devices enable the design of a complex and geographically extensive network covering virtually the entire Czech Republic with reliable data transmission at speeds of 10 Gb/s and 100 Gb/s, with the prospect of expansion to 400 Gb/s.
Security is ensured by network segmentation separating logical units and the deployment of firewalls.
